Bath rugs
If you have ever slipped on a wet tile floor while stepping out of the shower, you appreciate the need for a good quality set of bath rugs. These come in all shapes and sizes and types of material, and many have been designed to provide absorbancy on the top and non slip clinging on the bottom, for both your comfort and your safety. It is a good idea to buy more than one of these items, so that while one is being washed or dried, you can use the 2nd one. There are many materials made for bath rugs, and some are made of rough substances like raw jute or other ropelike material such as palm or bamboo, that has been woven into a mat. These usually dry quickly but don't provide much comfort. Many folks use these for outdoor showers around swimming pools are outside of the entrances to beach houses. There are others that are made of synthetic materials, like polyester and cotton blends, and they also tend to dry well but they are mostly plush and soft and comfortable. These usually have a binding on the back or underside that is made of rubber or similar textured sythetic material, and in the best ones, this rubber is made with suction properties designed in so that it stays in place even on a slippery or wet surface like the floor of your bathroom. Some people like cotton bath mats and rugs the best because, for example, terry cloth type rugs are ultra absorbant and while you are standing on them, they help to dry your feet. Some people use an extra towel as a rug in the bathroom, and this works pretty well, except that the towel does not usually stay put and instead tends to move all over the place, which can be somewhat hazardous if you are walking on it and it slips out from under you or bunches up and turns into a tripping hazard on the floor of your bathroom. Lastly, there are the kinds of bath rugs that are permanently installed as wall to wall carpet. These come in a variety of textures, piles, and materials, and they are available in a rainbow of colors. To get one of these installed in a bathroom can help to ensure that the floor is warm even in winter, and they can also be safer that floors made of slick surfaces, which often require added measures to make them non skid floors.
