New bathroom decorating ideas
People have tried for centuries to improve the
ambience of the bathroom with bathroom decorating ideas. In ancient India,
they would make bathrooms with marble and carved filligree of marble or
ivory, and they often build steps from the house right down into the
river, for walking down into the river to bath in the mornings. Greeks and
Romans had massive bath houses with ornate pillars and statues, and the
people of cold climates would create bath houses with thermal water,
heated by fires and embers, in order to enjoy a hot steam bath in the
middle of a blizzard of ice and snow in sub freezing weather.
One great new idea that is also friendly to the ecology of the planet is
to use bamboo and concrete, two easily harvested and replenished materials
that are plentiful on the planet, to create the counters and other
surfaces incorporated into the design of your bathroom decorating ideas.
For instance, you can make sinks that flow right into the counters, that
are made of polished concrete and look like granite or jade. And bamboo
comes in flooring tiles, that can easily be applied to counter tops to
dress up an old counter in the bathroom that might have been made of faded
or chipped formica or other material.
When exploring new bathroom decorating ideas, don't forget to let some
light in if possible, and to put house plants in the bath area, because
these plants not only look fresh and invite the natural look of the
outdoors, but they help to purify the air, because plants create oxygen.
And many plants enjoy the steamy and humid conditions of a bathroom,
because it imitates the atmosphere of a green house. So you might be able
to turn your stark and boring bathroom into a lush and natural little
green house space right in your own home, for very few dollars and just a
trip or two to the local nursery.
