Buying bathroom vanity cabinets is a great way to not only hide the ugly pipes that lead to your bathroom sink, but it is a quick and attractive way to add some needed storage space in a bathroom. Some vanity cabinets have only a box of facade around them, without real drawers or doors, and those of course will not help your storage needs, but most of the types that are sold have at least one or two cabinet doors on them that are fully functional, opening into a space with a "floor" in it, where you can get access to the drain pipe under the sink and at the same time you can store things away, like a trash can, a can of cleanser, or some extra rolls of tissue.

Many of the bathroom vanity cabinets also have drawers that open, and these are especially nice for storing things like soap or toothpaste or make up, and these cabinets come in a variety of styles, some large and some smaller. If you have a large double sink for instance, you can find huge cabinets that will hold all sorts of clutter, including your bath linens. When you buy your sink, there is often a catalog or display of vanities that you can buy with it, and this will help to give you ideas as you plan your decor and remodel of the bathrooms in your home.

There are bathroom vanity cabinets that come unfinished, so that you can paint or stain them to suit the color scheme of your bathroom, and then there are those that come pre painted, or that are made of materials that do not have to be painted, like exotic cabinets made of such materials as natural teak wood or cypress wood.

It is a good idea, if you can afford it, to avoid cheaply made bathroom vanity cabinets, because these tend to be stapled together and made of flimsy materials like poor quality particle board. Once they start to split apart at the joints, the drawers and cabinet doors do not work as well, and more importantly, water seeps into the particle board and soon turns it into a pulpy mess that warps and eventually falls apart.
